Sine Wave Filter

P2 Power Sine Wave Filters are engineered for use with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to convert the high-frequency Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) output voltage into a smooth, sinusoidal sine-wave voltage. Designed as a heavy-duty LC low-pass filter circuit, it eliminates peak voltage spikes (dv/dt), high-frequency common-mode noise, and voltage reflections before they reach the motor

By converting the drive's output into a smooth sinusoidal waveform, P2 Power Sine Wave Filters dramatically reduce motor insulation stress, eddy current losses, and motor heating. They suppress high-frequency acoustic switching noise, prevent premature motor bearing damage caused by fluting, and enable ultra-long motor cable lengths without requiring expensive shielded cables or auxiliary step-up transformers

How the Active Power Filter works
Key Features
Galvanic Isolation: Complete physical and electrical decoupling between input and output, suppressing transient voltages and eliminating ground loops
Sinusoidal Output Conversion: Smooths PWM switching waveforms into pure sine wave phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral voltages
dv/dt & Peak Voltage Spike Suppression: Eliminates voltage peaks and transient voltage stress on motor windings
Supports Long Motor Cable Runs: Permits extended cable lengths between the VFD and motor (up to hundreds of meters) by preventing wave-reflection voltage doubling
Extends Motor Life & Reduces Maintenance: Minimizes motor core heating, insulation degradation, and bearing currents to prolong equipment lifespan
Eliminates Acoustic Noise: Significantly reduces high-frequency audible motor hum and mechanical vibration caused by PWM switching
High Switching & Fundamental Frequency Support: Compatible with drive switching frequencies up to 20 kHz and fundamental output frequencies up to 1 kHz
High Fault Current Resilience: Short-circuit withstand capability up to 50 kA and rated for continuous currents up to 2 kA
