P2 Power Sine Wave Filters are engineered for use with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to convert the high-frequency Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) output voltage into a smooth, sinusoidal sine-wave voltage. Designed as a heavy-duty LC low-pass filter circuit, it eliminates peak voltage spikes (dv/dt), high-frequency common-mode noise, and voltage reflections before they reach the motor
By converting the drive's output into a smooth sinusoidal waveform, P2 Power Sine Wave Filters dramatically reduce motor insulation stress, eddy current losses, and motor heating. They suppress high-frequency acoustic switching noise, prevent premature motor bearing damage caused by fluting, and enable ultra-long motor cable lengths without requiring expensive shielded cables or auxiliary step-up transformers
