Active Power Filter LV

P2 Power's Active Power Filter (APF) is installed in parallel with non-linear electrical loads to continuously monitor and improve power quality. The system utilizes a set of Current Transformers (CTs) to measure load current in real time. Advanced Digital Signal Processing (DSP) combined with Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) technology identifies individual harmonic components generated by the load.


Based on this analysis, the APF instantly injects a compensating current that matches the harmonic current in magnitude but is 180° out of phase. This effectively cancels unwanted harmonics, resulting in a cleaner electrical network.


In addition to harmonic current mitigation, the PQC Series APF helps reduce harmonic voltage distortion, improves overall power factor, and corrects current imbalance within the electrical distribution system, ensuring stable and efficient operation.

APF System Architecture

The P2 Power Active Power Filter is designed with a modular architecture that offers flexibility, scalability, and simplified maintenance.The system employs an advanced three level inverter topology integrated with high performance IGBT power modules, Si and SiC MOSFET to deliver efficient harmonic compensation performance

A complete APF solution consists of one or multiple APF modules managed through a 7-inch or 10-inch Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Each module operates independently, allowing users to easily increase or decrease system capacity by adding or removing APF modules according to changing load requirements.

Based on installation requirements, the PQC Series APF is available in:
  • Modular Rack-Mounted APF
  • Wall-Mounted APF

To accommodate different installation preferences, the modular APF is offered in two cable connection configurations:

Drawer-Type Modular APF
  • Plug-in power cable terminals

  • Front-side signal cable connections
  • Suitable for permanent installations
Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Wall-Mounted APF Solution

The P2 Power Wall-Mounted Active Power Filter is designed for applications with lower current ratings where compact installation is preferred

The unit can be directly mounted on the wall, while the HMI is securely installed using a dedicated mounting bracket for convenient operation and protection

Wall-mounted systems are available in IP30, IP42, IP54, or customized enclosure configurations to suit various environmental conditions

APF Compensation Performance

The P2 Power PQC Series APF is engineered to deliver outstanding harmonic mitigation and power quality improvement. When properly sized and installed in systems with low background voltage distortion, the APF achieves excellent performance even under full-load conditions.

Typical performance includes:

  • Voltage Harmonic Distortion (THDu): Less than 3%
  • Current Harmonic Distortion (THDi): Less than 5%
  • Power Factor: Up to 0.99 for both leading and lagging loads
  • Neutral Current Reduction: Greater than 95%
