Perfect Solution for
Precise VAR Management

Active/Static Var Generator (AVG/SVG)

P2 Power AVG/SVG continuously measures system current through external current transformers. The controller processes the measured current in real time to identify harmonic, reactive-power and current-unbalance components

Based on the selected compensation mode, the IGBT power converter generates a compensating current and injects it in parallel with the load. The output current is dynamically controlled through a closed-loop control system to reduce harmonic current, improve power factor and correct three-phase current imbalance

When the compensation demand exceeds the available Active/Static Var Generator capacity, the output is automatically limited to 100% of rated current, ensuring safe continuous operation without overloading the module

Active Power Filter

Integrated with Alpha, Gamma, Edge, Ultra, and Mini Series power modules to provide intelligent and efficient harmonic mitigation, improved power quality, and reliable system performance.

How it works?
How the Active/Static Var Generator (AVG/SVG) works
AVG/SVG System Architecture

The P2 Power Active/Static Var Generator is designed with a modular architecture that offers flexibility, scalability, and simplified maintenance. It uses advanced high-speed IGBT power electronics with closed-loop current control to deliver efficient harmonic compensation.

A complete AVG/SVG solution consists of one or multiple modules managed through a 7-inch or 10-inch Human Machine Interface (HMI). Each module operates independently, allowing users to easily increase or decrease system capacity by adding or removing modules according to changing load requirements.

AVG/SVG Module & Cabinet Solutions

Active/Static Var Generator modules and the HMI can be integrated into P2 Power’s standard AVG/SVG cabinets or customized enclosures, with protection levels available according to project requirements.

Human Machine Interface (HMI)

Available display options, depending on the configuration, include:

Standard Cabinet Configuration

Cabinet configuration can include MCCB, SPD, HMI, emergency stop and auxiliary protection according to project requirements

Modular capacities with higher system ratings achievable through parallel operation; a single cabinet can accommodate up to 750 kVAr / 1000 A
High-altitude operation with derating, with standard operation up to 1000 m and 1% derating for each additional 100 m
Integrated diagnostic and protection functions, including DC-bus overvoltage, temperature protection, phase-sequence monitoring, internal power faults and restart-failure detection
Scalable architecture supporting up to 12 parallel modules
Wide operating temperature range: -10°C to +55°C
Selectable grid-side or load-side CT configuration through the HMI
Central HMI monitoring of parameters, harmonics, waveforms, alarms, events, and module status
Suitable for generator-fed systems subject to system study and commissioning configuration
Automatic restart after supply recovery, with a controlled 20-second restart delay when the APF was operating before the interruption
Selectable compensation priority — Harmonic Priority, Power-Factor Priority and Unbalance Priority modes, with remaining capacity automatically available for other enabled functions
Compensation Performance

The P2 Power Active/Static Var Generator is engineered to deliver outstanding harmonic mitigation and power quality improvement. When properly sized and installed in systems with low background voltage distortion, the AVG/SVG achieves excellent performance even under full-load conditions.
